Our pelvic region is incredibly important when riding and because of this a little bit extra attention on this area is very good.
Iy you are standing, can you lower your hip, without collapsing your chest? How do you do it? Can you focus directly in your hip or will it be easier if you lower your knee and thus bring the hip down? Can you lift your hip? Is it easier if you lift your heel from the ground? Is it equally easy to lower or lift your hip on both sides or is one side easier to move?

A Feldenkrais exercise I like is the “hip clock”. Lie down on your back and investigate how your pelvis feels like. Then angle your legs so the soles of the feet are resting on the floor. Imagine you have a giant clock in in your pelvis, where 12 is towards the chin and 6 is toward your feet. Can you angle your pelvis between 12 and 6 o’clock? Arching your back and then pull the tail in between your legs? do the movement slowly and really investigate what is happening and ow it feels. Then can you angle your pelvis to the sides, between 3 and 9 o’clock? Again, do a slow and aware movement. Can you rotate your pelvis between all hours of the clock? Gently press down your pelvis on each hour. Is any hour extra difficult? Can you make the movement even slower och more aware to go down on the difficult hours? Can you change your turn and rotate through all hours in the other direction ? What will happen if you speed up the movement a bit? Put down your legs and rest. Does the pelvis feel the same way as before your started, or is there a change?
